Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) courses train first aid responders to identify and provide first aid to cardiovascular and choking emergencies to adults, children and babies with training using an automated external defibrillator (AED)

CPR/AED Level A

Duration: 

Classroom: 4 hours

Blended/ online: 3 hours + 2 hours class time

In-class : 3.5 hours

Blended/online: 2 hours + 2.5 in-class.

CPR/AED Level HCP

 This course follows the main components of both Level A and C but also includes additional skills for healthcare providers following the most current CPR guidelines as per territorial/provincial requirements.

6 hour in-class training, not available for blended learning

* Pre-course Requirements: Participants must be certified in CPR level HCP

2-4 hours in-class training, not available for blended learning.

Mental Health First Aid - Basic

Course Content

This program brings focus and awareness on the stigma on Mental Health.  It highlights and trains the mental health first aider on how to recognize and aid those who are experiencing a Mental Health crisis.  The disorders covered are:

  • Substance-related disorders
  • Mood-related disorders
  • Anxiety and trauma-related disorders
  • Psychotic disorders

Certification

Certification is accredited by Mental Health Commissions Canada. 

Does not require re-certification.
